Forbidden Windows Kernel Modification Detected error

We have been seeing that players using Windows 10 Insider Preview are experiencing a “Forbidden Windows Kernel Modification Detected” error. This issue is a problem with the compatibility of Kamu’s Easy Anti-Cheat and Microsoft’s Insider Preview builds. These preview builds are in a beta state and are being updated quickly which makes it difficult for both Kamu and Microsoft to ensure stability. There are a few troubleshooting steps available, but none of them are guaranteed to be a solution. I have provided these troubleshooting steps below. The best solution for resolving this issue is to use the most recent stable build of Windows 10.

Unenroll from the program:

On your PC, go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Insider Program, select “Stop Insider Preview Builds” and follow the additional on-screen prompts.

Roll-back OS:

If your PC was working as expected on the prior build and you’d like to roll back without losing any data, you may try this option: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery, and select Get Started under Go Back to an Earlier Build.

Reinstall OS:

You will have several options to choose from, including an operating system-only reinstall or a clean wipe of your device: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery and click Get Started under Reset this PC. Follow the on-screen directions to refresh or perform a clean install the OS.
